Chopper Spirals Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Coast
An aircraft soaring above a well-attended southern California beach unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, eventually dropping height and smashing into a row of palm trees as beachgoers looked on.
Footage shared on the internet capture the aircraft commencing to spiral over the beach then plunging near the edge of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five individuals were taken to hospital including two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on that day.
Three people on the street were injured. Information on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
Planned Function
Authorities indicated the helicopter was connected to an yearly “Cars N Copters” benefit occasion planned for the next day.
