Battlefield 6 Players Agree: Missions Are Way Too Hard
The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, simultaneous player numbers reached a high of nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, many players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are mandatory to access certain guns.
Users have commenced turning to personalized games created through the Portal feature to finish these tasks, underscoring just how arduous these missions have become.
Comprehending BF6 Assignments
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the regularly refreshed daily and weekly challenges. There are four types of assignments, but where most merely grant outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of acquiring 12 of the 41 main guns present in the game.
Some of these restricted firearms could shortly earn a place on rankings for the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration on Reddit
Within Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so terrible and entirely ill-conceived, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at very short distances, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Ridiculously Tough Task
Another Reddit user brought attention to another ridiculously tough challenge, this time in the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with sniper rifles
This is tough enough on its own, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but given there are merely nine battlegrounds in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and perhaps a classic map in a best-case scenario if you aim to take long-range shots from beyond 200 meters.
The Alternative Method
There is a workaround though: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, including AI opponents. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.
But when completing the missions in a proper game seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for finishing these in a private match so allies are not impaired?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because if they're not, certain gamers simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
At the moment, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these strenuous multiplayer missions, hoping for a more balanced player experience in future updates.
