This Best Couch Co-op Release You Have Probably Not Tried Launches to Nintendo Switch
Wizard of Legend 2, a procedurally-generated quest featuring spellcasters attempting to achieve status as renowned heroes, makes its debut to Nintendo's console later this month. It will be playable November 25, giving devotees of shared-screen games a second chance to discover one of the year's top-tier releases in the genre.
A Challenging Beginning
The Wizard of Legend Sequel adopted the trajectory of numerous niche releases. Its creators made it available in beta testing in October 2024 on Windows PC, ahead of launching it completely, alongside PS5 and Xbox iterations, in the summer of 2025. When it debuted, it faced heavy criticism. Merely 29 percent of its user reviews were favorable. The Steam reviews were "varied", according to almost 2,000 assessments, with many users highlighting the general lack of polish and abundance of technical issues at launch. Gamers on PlayStation and Xbox further lambasted that the cooperative mode, a huge selling point for the title, was largely non-functional.
Consistent Improvements
However like several pre-release games that release in unpolished conditions, Wizard of Legend 2 has gotten better. During the last several months, the creators have rolled out a series of patches aimed to fix these issues. After playing Wizard of Legend 2 more frequently than every other new game release recently, I can confidently say its functionality has improved compared to initially (for Xbox, anyway). It has achieved the level where nine times out of ten, players can reliably initiate a cooperative run to work. Not bad!
When It Functions, This Game Shines
And if Wizard of Legend II functions, it truly delivers. From an isometric perspective, you battle through elemental-themed dungeons by casting spells in action-oriented mechanics. Plenty of dashing, a great deal of dodging, plenty of managing cooldowns. It's incredibly rapid and endlessly creative; when you mix and match your magical attacks together with an ally's, you can create powerful synergies.
Nintendo Switch Release Details
